Great LED Lighting For All Your Needs
Be seen in the right light!
Be seen in the right light!
There are so many ways to install any lighting badly. We’ve all seen bad choices from Do-It-Yourselfers (DIY) that don’t grasp the difference between color temperatures, wattages/lumens, and dimmer compatibility.
Even when you hire somebody, if the installers lack an artistic flair, or a sense of composition, it gets worse. Is this the sort of badly disjointed effort you want in your bathroom?
Why would you want faint, embedded, mini blue downlights fish over the bathtub, or horizontally mounted pot lights under the sink that will only light up your slippers? If installers don’t know about sight-lines, oblique lighting, focal points, and dynamism or kinetics, the clashes of technique and ineptitude can leave you gasping.

If installers don’t know about sight-lines, oblique lighting, focal points, and dynamism or kinetics, the clashes of technique and ineptitude can leave you gasping.
The problems only multiply and spiral out-of-control when you mix these variables with amateurs, and a new form of lighting like LEDs with which they have no experience. Some choices are just tragic. Others make you wonder what they could possibly have been thinking of…
For example, what was the intent with this “floating” bed? Was it supposed to give you an idea of what it was like driving the DeLorean in the movie BACK TO THE FUTURE? That’s not cozy or inviting; it’s cold, stark and rather unfriendly; it’s more reminiscent of a science fiction suspended animation chamber, than a bedroom.

Customized Design
No single design is going to suit everybody, of course. Some designs are only ever going to suit one single person—and maybe not even that one single person once they see their plans realized. That’s when you truly appreciate a professional designer who takes you aside for a moment and honestly says “You know what? That is probably not a good idea because they will and you are not going to like it when it’s done. What we can do instead is [idea]”, and then provides some great alternatives.

Good Ideas
When you illuminate a large dining hall sufficient for a significant gathering, it’s not just for show. It still requires a certain degree of functionality. Indirect cove lighting in the ceiling looks fantastic and provides atmosphere.

When it comes right down to the practicality of using the room, you want guests to be able to see their food, and each other. Dining together is not just a gastronomic event; it is a social event. People need to see each other. This room is perfectly executed.
Whether it is your home office or your personal library, nothing speaks to sophistication, class, and elegance like indirect or phantom lighting. If there were bare light sources visible it would just be annoying and distracting, and most certainly not gorgeous and opulent.
This is your home we’re talking about. It should be imbued with your own feelings; it should reflect your personality and your values.
The very last thing you need is some fly-by-night operator who promises you the world, slaps together a solution, and then vanishes. This sort of thing isn’t a solution; it’s just more problems that you’re going to have to call someone else to fix. Don’t you agree that it makes much better sense to simply get the job done right the first time?
Business Premises
What’s the worst thing that can happen here? Well, it could be something as invisible and insidious and electrical code violations, or overloaded circuits that could plunge your place of business into darkness.

On the other hand, it could be a stylistic fiasco that could reflect badly on the whole company because some installer thinks that any old 1000 lumen bulb will be sufficient.
Your source of lighting should not be an embarrassment; it should be so thoroughly integrated that it doesn’t detract from anything else in the room that you truly want to emphasize.
Sometimes you want the lighting itself to be invisible; sometimes the lighting is a primary feature of the space you are illuminating.

As lighting experts we want to give you the best advice possible. We want your lighting to tell a story about you.
Just because they’re more economical to operate doesn’t mean you have to settle for poor design choices. The simple fact of the matter is that LEDs are the most versatile way to light a space. You can do so much more with so much less.
