Illuminations Lighting Design is pleased to announce that Jon P. Trevelise has joined our team. Mr. Trevelise has been appointed General Manager of ILD and will be responsible for overseeing the operations and growth of our organization.
Jon brings to the table a powerful mind for strategy and a hands-on approach to leadership. His expertise is multidisciplinary and spans many industries. Jon believes that building cohesive teams is the key to consistently generating results. His skill set ranges from sales and marketing to production; distressed to high growth, from organic growth to industry roll-up via M&A. His experiences range from start-ups to Fortune 500 corporations.
Jon has worked as a financial officer, general manager, and financial/operation consultant. Since April, he has been providing financial and operational services to a number of clients as a consultant and President of the C.F.O. Connection. During the five years prior to April, Jon served as C.E.O. and President of Sports Express, LLC where he brought improvement to an 8-year old company in the sports equipment and luggage delivery business. Shareholders looked to him to precipitate change within the organization. This led to an overhaul of daily operations and a change in corporate culture that generated tangible financial results.
In 2007, Jon took hold of an opportunity to purchase two competing brands that generated 30% growth over the following 12 months. He sought out partners in an effort to grow via brand consolidation, and he recently sold the company to a European entity with holdings in the luggage delivery business.
Prior to assuming leadership of Sports Express, Jon served as Principle for Chalk Sea Development, Ltd. Chalk Sea Development provides managerial and financial services to clients in multiple vertical markets and industries.
Before his service to Chalk Sea, Jon worked as the manager of fleet operations for EOTT Energy Corporation. There, he managed 500 employees in fourteen states, along with a fleet of oil trucks. During his tenure of service, he eliminated one entire level of field management by developing operational teams. The fleet was reduced by more than 30 percent as well, and underperforming assets were identified and sold.
Prior to EOOTT, Jon worked as the Director of Strategic Planning at Acquisition Partners, Inc. This startup venture provided acquisition and divestiture services to its clients, chief among which was AquaSource, Inc. Jon managed a staff that performed financial due diligence and administrative transitional services relative to acquisitions totaling more than $100 million in multiple industries.
Prior to working with Acquisition Partners, Jon worked as Chief Financial Officer to AquaSource, Inc., which was a startup company in the water and waste water industry. He participated in strategic development of the company during a period of rapid growth where acquisitions totaled over $300 million. He was also responsible for due diligence and the administrative aspects of transactions relative to acquisitions.
Jon is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University (B.S. Accounting) and is a licensed C.P.A. in New Jersey, Illinois and Texas.
