Lighting Maintenance

Indoor lighting maintenance is so easy to forget when you are consumed with the daily demands of a busy schedule.  This is because we have all been conditioned to see lights as either working or not working.  We do not consider replacing the fixtures until the lamp burns out.

In reality, the luminance quality of many light fixtures degrades long before the fixture itself fails.  This is particularly true of certain types of art lighting fixtures, although it also happens with many recessed ceiling lights and outdoor garden lights as well. 

To make sure that all of your fixtures are performing at recommended manufacturer standards, ILD will come to your home and thoroughly inspect your equipment for optimal light output.  Should we detect a problem, we will either replace the unit or recommend an upgrade.

Repairs & Troubleshooting

If you have noticed that something is not quite right with your lighting system, but do not know exactly what the cause might be, it is very important that you contact our office and have our team take a look at your lighting array.  Both indoor and landscape lighting systems operate on the principle of “layering” light in patterns and degrees of intensity. 

When lamps begin to degrade in quality, the entire effectiveness of the system will suffer.  Do not waste time trying to find where the problem is.  It may be something as simple as a loose wire, or something more severe like a short circuit.  It is safer to let an electrical contractor handle things like this, and to arrange for replacement components with commercial, specification grade features ensure superior operability and longer lamp life.

Outdoor Holiday Lighting

Are you planning more than just a Thanksgiving dinner inside?  Chances are, Thanksgiving Day will be warm enough in Houston to enjoy an evening outdoors.  Also, if you have invested in an outdoor kitchen or living room, you may even have some creature comforts in addition to a night under the stars.
