Henry Ford didn’t build the first car; Thomas Alva Edison didn’t build the first light bulb. What the pair did have common was taking previously dubious products and turning them into everyday items for ordinary people.
Gas-guzzling monsters have been replaced by energy-sipping Prius and Tesla-type cars. The old-fashioned incandescent bulb, which turned 10% of its energy into usable light and 90% into wasted heat, has been supplanted by LED lights that generate practically no heat, use just a fraction of the energy, and last 50 times as long.
It’s quite a significant accomplishment, and consequently, people have scooped up a grab bag of LED bulbs to both save money and reduce our dependence on foreign energy. These are laudable goals, but the helter-skelter mess that has arisen has left stately Houston homes looking more like a carnival midway or a car dealership, than a beautiful living space.
It’s Time to Call the Experts
Illuminations Lighting Design is chock full of specialists and experts for designing and installing LED lighting systems for new or existing homes. We have years of experience evaluating, testing, and recommending quality LED products for residential and commercial applications.
Most people don’t know how significantly different the various Kelvin values are for LED lights. They end up with Arctic White bulbs blazing down on the luxurious fabrics and fine woods in their living room; Rosy Whites in a utilitarian space like a kitchen or laundry room; and some mid-range white making their bedrooms seem stark, cold, and uninviting.
Worse yet, folks buy an LED bulb which is marked dimmable, take it home, screw it in, and it starts flickering like a candle trying to stay alight in a wind. We know how to fix that!
Depending on the type of dimmer arrangement that is available, sometimes such a bulb will only change from full brightness to half-brightness, to one-quarter in large steps. This is not what we’re used to with traditional incandescent bulbs and so most people find this completely unsatisfactory. We can fix that, too!
Doing it right
We only use professional quality LED lamps that are fully dimmable and produce the right amount of light for your needs. We know which LED lamps work and what color to select to properly balance the illumination for a particular purpose; how to maintain that warm residential look; how to make your family feel comfortable, and your guests feel welcome.
If you don’t want to end up with a mishmash of disparate, unmatched, and incompatible lighting solutions, we’re the people you should call. We specialize in whole house batch LED lighting upgrades and replacements to achieve the desired results. Lighting should flow between areas, and easing the transition from one space to another. That is what expert lighting design is all about.
Some lights belong indoors; some lights should never be used anywhere except outdoors. Indoor lights can present an electrical hazard when used outdoors. Outdoor lights are generally too powerful to be used indoors.
We Handle It All
Whether you require up lights, down lights, hidden accent lights, chandeliers, antique table lamps, under-cabinet lights, or any sort of interior lighting, we are experienced with it all. If you need economical and energy efficient LED lighting to replace expensive mercury vapor, high pressure sodium, or halogen terrain-lighting, architectural lighting, or landscape lighting, we can handle that as well.
We are experienced, licensed electricians, not some fly-by-night outfit that wants to turn a quick buck at your expense. There’s so many ways do a job incorrectly, so we urge you to call us, because…
