No mess… and we vacuum, too!
Back in your school days, on top of the requirements for a test or quiz, your teachers would often add “…and Neatness Counts”. At the time we might have regarded that as unfair since knowing the answers might have seemed hard enough. The teachers, however, were preparing us for Real Life, because neatness really does count.
Just like Home
It’s true that we know all our fixtures intimately; we know all the proper techniques for installing and how to adjust them to bring out their best; we even know everything about repairing them. See the evidence of our fine work here.
Just as important, though often overlooked, is the ability to install fixtures and services without chopping huge holes in walls or ceilings; without dropping plaster dust everywhere; even to the point of not traipsing mud or dirt into the house with every trip to the truck!
At Illuminations Lighting Design, our professional designers and installers know how you value your home. We have nice homes, too, and we know precisely how we would feel if someone mistreated our homes! The solution: treat your home as if it were our own. We demand of ourselves exactly what we would expect from a person we hired to complete a comparable task.
Understanding the Secrets
Most houses have supposedly “decorative” bulkheads running hither and yon, which are integrated into the design of the house. While they do fulfill an aesthetic purpose, in some cases they are more than merely practical—they’re essential to acoustics, airflow, lighting, and other factors. Generally speaking, builders use these built-in spaces to run HVAC, plumbing, and electrical service throughout the building.
In the olden days, people would have gas (open flame) lighting and running water installed in their homes, and the process was so expensive that far from hiding the utilities, they would have exposed cast iron natural gas pipes and lead water pipes as a display of wealth!
Nowadays, almost everybody has these services and so hiding them beautifully with clean lines is the order of the day.
You have almost certainly heard of Phantom Lighting at some point in your life. We’re quite proud of it, since we invented the concept many years ago. Lots of companies have adopted the techniques we created, which just demonstrates what a great idea it was (and is)!
Sourceless illumination is the essence of elegance, particularly for displaying art of any kind. Art aficionados don’t want to look at light bulbs—they want to look at the art!
A properly set up projector light will illuminate the canvas while not even touching its frame. A phantom light around the frame can give it an ethereal quality, as if the picture was suspended in midair, floating on a cloud of light.
The same can be done for statuary, bookcases, display cases, and so on. And it doesn’t matter if it is indoors or outdoors; we have lighting for all applications. Best of all, incandescent bulbs are heading the way of the dinosaurs.
What was once dependent on bulbs with a 1,000 hour lifetime now uses LEDs that last at least 50,000 hours, or almost six years of continuous operation. But that is only the beginning, because now LEDs available to commercial installers can have lifetimes up to 200,000 hours, or 23 years of uninterrupted service.
Think about that! If you have them operate just six hours per day, they have an effective lifetime longer than that of a human being. Imagine your next generation kids never even knowing it is possible for lights to “burn out”.
If you want responsible installers that will complete the job on time, on budget, and with high regard for your home, Illuminations Lighting Design is the team for you! The fact that the lights themselves could outlast you is just a terrific bonus and “secret joke” on your children or grandchildren when they finally do fail. Give us a call and let’s get your potentially “permanent” lighting underway!
