Illumination’s Lighting Design was selected by the Preservation Society of Newport County to provide landscape lighting for the Isaac Bell House in Newport, Rhode Island.
The Preservation Society is a private, non-profit, educational organization. Since its inception in 1945, it has been asked to hold in perpetuity, some of America’s most fascinating homes and mansions. The Isaac Bell House is one such example. This home is the best surviving example of shingle style architecture in the country. It was designed by the renowned architectural firm of McKim, Mead and White, and represents the zenith of 19th century America’s search for a national style. In 1997 this home was designated a National Historic Landmark.
Illuminations Lighting Design was chosen specifically to enhance the gardens surrounding this historic landmark due to their expertise in landscape lighting design and installation. Through the use of “Moonlighting” installation the gardens are bathed in a warm wash of light that creates a perfect balance of shadow and light. The resulting effect is very complementary of and in keeping with the historical flavor of the neighborhood.
Time after time, Illuminations continually meets design challenges with creative lighting productions and stunning results. They understand the science of lighting as well as their tools-the world’s best lighting products-and how to effectively harness them.
